For You: Your Information Audit
- The Twenty-Four-Hour Input Inventory: Track every information source you consume for one full day: apps, notifications, social media, emails, news, podcasts, videos. For each input, note: Did it energize or drain you? Did it help you focus or scatter your attention? Rate each on a simple keep/pause/eliminate scale.
- The Three-Change Challenge: Based on your audit, make three immediate changes: Turn off one category of notifications, unfollow/unsubscribe from five sources that don’t serve you, and establish one daily “ input-free” hour. Start small but make it meaningful— even thirty minutes of quiet can be transformative.
Your Team: Communication Streamlining
- Platform Audit: Map all your team’s communication channels (Slack, email, Teams, texts, etc.). Identify where people feel most overwhelmed by communication and where you’re duplicating efforts across platforms. Discuss ways to modify your communication channels.
- Communication Charter: As a team, create clear agreements about what gets communicated where, establish “No Notification” time blocks, and set expectations for uninterrupted work time. Make this agreement visible and revisit it monthly to ensure it’s working.
