The Great Outdoors Effect Exercise
For You: Your Nature Connection Practice
- The Outdoor Audit: Reflect on your last month— when did you spend undistracted time outside (no phone, podcast, or agenda)? Rate how that time affected your mental clarity and creative thinking. What patterns do you notice?
- The Ten-Minute Nature Experiment: Identify one outdoor space within five minutes of your work or home. This week, spend ten minutes there without devices, three different times. Notice: What do you hear, see, smell? How does your thinking shift from when you arrived to when you leave?
Your Team: Natural Meeting Innovation
- b>Walking Meeting Trial: Choose one recurring team meeting and move it outside for a month. Track the difference in discussion quality, problem-solving, and team energy compared to indoor meetings. What types of conversations work best while walking?
- Strategy in the Fresh Air: Hold your next big-picture planning session outdoors for at least the first thirty minutes. Compare the breadth and creativity of ideas generated outside versus similar indoor sessions. How does the natural environment affect your team’s strategic thinking?
